History
Voyage from Liverpool to Newport she was torpedoed by U-55.
The master was taken prisoner and 19 crew members were lined up on the submarine's casing, with the unfounded belief that a British warship was in the vicinity the U-boat commander then submerged washing the crew members off the casing.
In all 39 crew members lost their lives.
