History

The Schooner James Williamson of Lancaster bound from Glasgow for Swansea with a cargo of steel turnings, which was compelled to anchor opposite Carrickfergus Belfast Lough, owing to bad weather was sunk on Saturday night in collision with the steamship Eveleen bound from Ayr to Belfast with coal. The Schooner's crew of three clambered on board the Eveleen but the captain remained in the Schooner till she sank and was rescued from the rigging. He was injured about the head and shoulders.
