History

HIERONYUMUS IPLAND - PAX - KELP

Built in 1914 in the Netherlands as HIERONYUMUS IPLAND for Gustavo Ipland (German), she was interned in Buenos Aires in 1914 and then sold to Argentine interests as PAX.  Departing Rosario for Stockholm the following year, she was captured by HMS Glasgow only 19m off the Recalada Lighthouse at Bahia Blanca, and taken to Port Stanley where she was declared a prize of war.
PAX was registered at Port Stanley and renamed KELP.
On a voyage from Port Stanley for London she was wrecked at Spanish Point.
