History

Wexford.- The Schooner Phoebe Harris, Captain Harris, went ashore on fundale rock. The vessel had only left port on tuesday morning, but it experienced such heavy winds that the captain was compelled to return. A very heavy sea was running at the time and in attempting to put her about the Schooner missed stays, and at once drifted on to the rocks. The crew managed to get ashore with one of their own boats. The Schooner was on a voyage to Sunderland for coals and was but partially insured. She has since gone to pieces.
