A large Iron Ship the County Of Renfrew of Glasgow (Captain Macnicol), 700 tons register bound from Rotterdam for Glasgow with a cargo of hay, onions, and wooden hoops also went ashore at Tacumshane early on Monday morning.
The crew were hailed to by a Coast-Guardsman to remain on board till he went for assistance which he at once proceeded to do. Before he returned however it became necessary for the crew to leave the ship and they proceeded to get ashore as best they could. They all succeeded in reaching land with the exception of three one of whom was lost through the cupidity of attempting to save his clothes as well as himself. The vessel is a complete wreck.
