On Thursday morning the smack Ally and Betty, Smith commander from Belfast and Ardclass for Dublin went ashore in Dundalk Bay and one of her crew a man named Hugh Clinton was drowned.

1 1/2 miles south of Soldiers Point, drove on shore having sprung a leak and carried away mainboom Smyth Mr.
