History

SS Norwegian Defensively Armed British Merchant Ship on Voyage New York to Liverpool with a general cargo , Armed with a 4.7" stern gun. Struck a mine layed by UC-43 about four miles off Galley Head with the Loss of six crew.
The wreck lies close off shore at Dunowen Head but has been ravaged over the years by authorized and unauthorized salvors recovering the copper ingots cargo.
