Steam Trawler Leukos while fishing in company with a group of British Trawlers 12 miles off Tory Island , was attacted and sunk by gun fire without warning by U-38 At the time of the attack the neutral unarmed Leukos in accordance with the Hague Convention on neutrality had the designated neutral insignia an Irish Flag flying from her stern , an Irish Flag painted along her starboard and port sides and her Deck lights on |
